What impressed me most was the initiative shown beyond assigned tasks. This intern identified and tackled several systemic issues:
- Proactive Bug Fixes: Didn’t just work on assigned items; spotted and fixed integration issues that would have caused production headaches.
- Knowledge Documentation: Without being asked, created clear documentation of complex system flows that will benefit the entire team.
- Strategic Thinking: Started conversations about long-term scalability and technical debt, showing both depth and breadth.
These are qualities we look for in future leaders. The technical skills will only improve with time—the mindset is already there.
